Buy and manage phone numbers

Buy numbers from the dialer — Buy a new one beside the source number selector, which opens Purchase New Number. Search - Area code — the usual way. Pick the area code your contacts are in. - Zip code — searches for numbers local to that postal area. Results show the number and its locality so you can tell a genuinely local number from one that merely shares a state. Your first phone number is free on eligible accounts; the dialog says so when it applies. After that, numbers are paid from your credit balance — if you see "Not enough credits", top up from Credits and auto-refill. Toll-free numbers are currently unavailable in the purchase dialog. Countries and regulatory bundles Beyond the US, the dialog lists Germany, France, United Kingdom and Australia, among others. Many countries require a regulatory bundle before they will sell you a number — proof of who you are and, usually, a local address. Submit Regulatory Bundle walks through three steps: 1. User Information — friendly name, contact email, and whether the holder is a Business or an Individual. 2. Address Information — the address the number is registered to. For a National number this generally has to be in-country. 3. Upload Documents — whatever that country requires. Submitted bundles go to View History, which shows the friendly name, country, number type, user type, bundle SID and status. If one is rejected you can Re-upload Documents and Resubmit Application. Approval is not instant and is not something PowerDialer controls — it is the carrier's review. How many numbers do you need Enough that no single number carries a volume pattern that looks automated, and enough to cover the areas you call. - Local presence: one number per area code you dial into, if you are using local area dialing. - Rotation: at least three numbers per rep dialing full-time, so auto-rotate has somewhere to go. Watch the per-number stats in the source number selector — call count, connection rate and spam score, on All time or Today (UTC). A number whose connection rate is falling while others hold is being filtered. Retiring a number Remove a number from the source selector to stop dialing from it. If Phone health flags a number for replacement — "Replace these numbers to maintain optimal call completion rates" — take it out of rotation and buy a replacement. A burned number does not recover quickly. Register what you buy A new number with no registration is a number carriers know nothing about. Go straight to the compliance centre after buying.

Phone health and spam risk

Phone Health is the organisation-wide dashboard for how carriers are treating your numbers. It is the screen to check weekly, not the one to check after connect rates have already collapsed. The headline metrics | Metric | What it is | Target | | --- | --- | --- | | Health Score | Composite score per number | 70+ is performing well; below 50 needs attention | | Connection Rate | Share of calls that connected | 65%+ is the industry standard | | Spam Risk | Likelihood of being flagged as spam | Keep under 30; above 60 is high | | Conversation Rate | Share of connected calls that became conversations | 25%+ is good engagement | | Active Numbers | Used within the last 7 days | Inactive numbers lose reputation over time | Spam risk bands | Band | Score | What to do | | --- | --- | --- | | Low | 0–30 | Performing well. | | Medium | 31–60 | Review practices. | | High | 61–80 | Monitor closely. | | Critical | 81–100 | Immediate action required. | The Spam Risk Distribution panel shows how your numbers spread across these bands. One critical number in a rotation of ten drags the whole rotation, because the people it burns are the same market the others are calling. Other signals on the page - High immediate hangup rate — spam filtering is likely. People are not choosing to hang up; their phone is telling them not to answer. - Short call rate 30%+ — poor reputation. - STIR/SHAKEN level — Level A is full verification and the best call completion, Level B partial, Level C none. See Compliance centre. - Peak and low activity hours — where your volume actually sits, which is usually not where you think it sits. - Mapped Caller IDs — a heat map of which rep dialed from which number, filterable by member. This is how you find the one person burning a number. Call performance metrics The performance section defines each number precisely: - Total Calls Made — outbound calls attempted across all numbers. - Connected Calls — calls that successfully connected and started ringing. - Connection Rate — percentage of calls that connected. - Calls Lasting >10 Seconds — the proxy for a real conversation. - Conversation Rate — percentage of connected calls over 10 seconds. - Average Call Duration and Total Call Time. Quick Spam Check Run Quick Check does a rapid pass over every number in the organisation and reports numbers checked, alerts found and critical issues. Run it before a big campaign, not after. The four rules the dashboard keeps repeating 1. Maintain a 65%+ connection rate. 2. Keep spam risk under 30. 3. Use numbers regularly — idle numbers decay. 4. Monitor STIR/SHAKEN. When a number is flagged 1. Take it out of rotation in the dialer's source number selector. 2. Register it if it is not registered — see Compliance centre. 3. Submit it to the Free Caller Registry, which the app links to directly from the phone health guidance. That is the industry-run route to clear a "Spam Likely" label with the analytics providers the carriers use. 4. Replace it if the guidance says Replace Immediately. A number with a critical score and a high volume history is not worth rehabilitating. 5. Fix the cause. Volume on one number, calls outside local hours, high abandon rate from parallel dialing, and unregistered numbers are the four things that put you here. Replacing the number without changing the behaviour just burns the next one.

The compliance centre

Registrations in the top bar opens the Compliance Center: manage your business profile and service registrations to ensure trust and deliverability. Registration services are available on paid plans. Step one: your business profile Everything else is gated on it. Your first step is to create and verify your business profile. Once approved, you can access other registration services. - Submitting shows "Business profile submitted successfully. Approval may take up to 24 hours." - While it is pending: "Your business profile is under review. This process typically takes 24 hours. We'll notify you upon approval." - If it is rejected, the reason is shown and you can Re-submit Business Profile. Get the details right the first time. The information has to match your actual registered business — a mismatch with public records is the common cause of rejection. Identity and business verification (KYC / KYB) Verify your identity (KYC) or your business (KYB) to build trust and unlock platform capabilities. SHAKEN/STIR Register your numbers for call authentication to reduce spam flags. Also described in the app as: register your phone numbers to get them fully attested, improving call answer rates. This is the framework US carriers use to sign a call as genuinely originating from the number it claims. The attestation level that comes out of it is what Phone health reports: | Level | Meaning | | --- | --- | | A | Full verification — best call completion | | B | Partial verification | | C | No verification | If any number in your active rotation is unregistered, the dialer warns you directly in the settings panel: unregistered numbers raise the odds carriers flag those calls as spam. Do this for every number you dial from. It is the single highest-leverage item on this page. CNAM — caller name Register your phone numbers for CNAM (Caller Name) to display your business name on outbound calls. CNAM is what makes a phone show "Acme Roofing" instead of a bare number. Coverage is not universal — carriers and handsets vary in whether and how they display it — but where it lands it materially changes answer rates. Voice Integrity Register numbers to enhance call trust and integrity. You provide details of your use case and expected call volume. Be honest about the volume. The registration exists so carriers can distinguish a legitimate high-volume caller from an unknown one; understating it does not help you. A2P 10DLC — not yet available Ensure messaging compliance for Application-to-Person 10-digit long codes. Marked Coming Soon — "We're working on bringing A2P 10DLC registration to the platform." Until it ships, if you are sending SMS from US 10-digit numbers, check with your account contact what your numbers are registered for. Unregistered A2P traffic gets blocked by carriers without notice. Order of operations for a new account 1. Business profile → wait for approval. 2. KYC / KYB verification. 3. SHAKEN/STIR on every number you own. 4. CNAM on the numbers you dial from most. 5. Voice Integrity if you are dialing at volume. Then check Phone health a week later to see the attestation levels come through.

Call recording and consent

Turning it on Power dialing configs → Recording Settings → Record calls. Recordings attach to the call in Logs, where you can play them back, and they feed the transcript-based features such as AI call summaries and coaching analytics. The two-party consent option Don't record calls for two-party consent states suppresses recording when the contact is in a United States state that requires every party to a conversation to consent, rather than just one. Tick it. The cost of having it on is a few missing recordings; the cost of having it off is a legal problem. Two things it does not do: - It does not cover other countries. If you dial into the UK, the EU, Canada or Australia, their rules apply and this setting knows nothing about them. - It does not announce anything. It suppresses recording; it does not tell the contact they are being recorded. Announcing the recording Where consent is required, the standard practice is to say so at the start of the call, in words, and to record the fact that you said it. Put it in your list script so every rep says the same sentence: "Just so you know, this call is recorded for quality and training." If the contact objects, stop recording or end the call. Where recordings live Logs holds every call. Filter by whether media is available to find the calls that have a recording, and export what you need. Recordings are part of your customer data. Decide how long you keep them, and who on the team can listen — reps can hear their own calls, and managers reviewing calls for coaching is the intended use, but a recording of a sales call often contains information the contact would not expect to be widely shared. This is not legal advice Consent rules differ by state, by country, and by what the call is about. PowerDialer gives you the switch and the state-level suppression; deciding what your obligations are is your business's call, and worth ten minutes with whoever advises you.
